Text Box: How you can help!
GIFTS TO THIS FUND KEEP ON GIVING THROUGH THE YEARS SINCE THE PRINCIPLE REMAINS IN THE FUND!!
There are many ways to give, and all gifts are tax deductible if you itemize deductions.
The most obvious is a cash donation, which can be during the donors lifetime or as a bequest in a will or estate plan. Gifts from a will or an estate will not incur estate tax.
Gifts of appreciated property or stock have the additional advantage that you will not have to pay any capital gains tax and the school will receive current market value on sale of the appreciated property or securities.
Deferred gifts, planned gifts, or life income gifts are another option. These are gifts that can provide you with an immediate income tax deduction, but also may offer other benefits such as life income, future use of the gift property, and avoidance of capital gains tax.
These are not all of the options but give a representative indication. For more information please fill in the attached form and mail to Samaritan Hands, Paraguay and a representative will contact you. Remember, these gifts will have an eternal value in the effect on lives of young people in Paraguay. Please pray for this ministry.
Text Box: Samaritan Hands is a non-profit organization established by Fairview United Methodist Church in Maryville, Tennessee, in order to fund mission outreach activities. It is administered by a board of directors under president, Dr. Jerry Russell. This organization has agreed to administer funds donated for the New Horizons School in a very poor area in Paraguay. The New Horizons School was founded by Marion and Georgia Waltz while serving nine years in Paraguay as missionaries with The Mission Society for United Methodists. The school is funded entirely from donations from individuals and churches, either in the form of Child Sponsorships, designated gifts, or in the future, partially through this endowment fund. This is one of the very few organizations where absolutely none of the donated monies are used for administrative expenses. Monies in the Endowment fund are invested in a Balanced Growth Fund managed by the Holston Conference Foundation. The return on investment is used to support the school.
