Good Evening! The computer woes of my data base not operating with my email system continues so to save time, I will just be sending this to a select few like my Mom and to be posted on the website. I apologize for the hassle.

This past week has been one I will never forget. Saturday started out peacefully and I was trying to do errands before my afternoon Bible study. I received a call from Felicia’s daughter asking me to join then in prayer for a lady who was demon-possessed. I went and found about 10 members of our church praying for the lady. She was standing on her bed cursing and striking out at everyone. Other members came and joined us in the spiritual battle for the lady’s soul. By the time we left the lady was calm and we had shared many scriptures with her. She had 5 identifiable demons and we thought all had left her after about 5 to 6 hours of prayer. Praise God!

Sunday morning the children in the school had their “Children’s Day” celebration. We had over 300 children in attendance. The children have been saving “talentos” or tokens for several months and they were able to cash them in for special gifts. Our youth led a time of worship and skits and many dressed as clowns which thrilled the children. Everyone had a great time.

Then in the middle of the sermon, the lady from the day before arrived at church. She wanted to come to church but as she neared, the last demon, Macumba (associated with the occult and witchcraft) erupted and soon the entire church was praying for the lady. For practically everyone such a satanic display was a first; and many members were filled with fear. We set up a prayer and fasting vigil and many stayed to participate. We cleared out a classroom and set up and area where we could talk to her and minister to her. At times we were able to share scripture with her, discuss her past and pray with her. At other times she had to be physically restrained as she wanted to kill and destroy many of us. All day Sunday, then throughout the night and until around 7 AM on Monday; we prayed. She appeared to be free of Macumba around 8 PM in the evening so then we spend time sharing and explaining Bible verses with her until about midnight. She slept peacefully until about 5 AM when she became tormented by a animal, later described as a lion, that was trying to attack her.( I Peter 5:8). She could not look in a mirror. After helping take authority over the spirits in the name of Jesus, she did relax and we then spent several more hours teaching her how much God loved her and how with Jesus she can have freedom from the demons.

Since Monday she has had a few times where the enemy has tormented her and once where she physically attacked her husband with no recall; but for the most part she and her husband are like sponges trying to absorb the word of God. Please pray with us as we try to encourage her through this healing process.

You may be wondering what brought all this on…she was sexually abused by her father from the age of 10; she was verbally and physically abused by both parents; then later by her live-in boyfriend who also had several affairs. Later they moved into a small house with their two young sons. They were cautioned by neighbors that an evil spirit lived in the house ever since a woman died there but no one is certain whether it was a suicide or murder. One evening while she was home with just her young boys a spirit came out of the TV set, started yelling at her to get out because her kids were terrible and they were bothering her; then she felt the spirit enter her body through her back. Many of us have been praying, fasting, and visiting all week. Please pray for her and her family and for us that God will guide us through this healing process.

Also, this week we celebrated Children’s Day on the playground of one of the area schools on Monday for around 300 children and then Tuesday we had our Children’s Day celebration…what a time the kids had. Again, youth from the church came as clowns and did special skits and sang with the children. Everyone had a great time and for days afterwards the children were telling me how much they loved their different gifts from their sponsors.

Thursday the President of Latin America Mission, his wife (Head of Personnel) and his daughter visited the school for a few hours. The children and staff surprised them with a few songs and a dance demonstration.

For this next week, please pray as I will be leaving the school for a few days for a Mission Retreat.

Love,
Sue
