Good Evening! I pray you are fine. Ivana and I are anxiously waiting the results of a local high school football game, the rivalry of the Canton McKinley Bulldogs and the Massillon Tigers. At this point the only other score I am really anxious to hear is the results of the game between Ohio State and Michigan…but I am not even sure when it is going to be played. My one sports reporter isn’t too reliable…she said the Ravens were in the World Series; then I heard the Chicago Red Sox’s won. My sports source gets credit for her initiative but I don’t think she will get hired for the Fox Sports channel.
Last month David and Gary Wilkerson were in Paraguay, and David said we are going to see God move like never before and his words have proven true. We continue to stand in awe. We began a “prayer petition” box in our church and have received many requests. In the school the staff are soon going to finish the “Purpose Driven Life” study, so we have given the children petition forms also. We have been flooded with so many different prayer requests for illnesses, financial reasons, for spiritual growth, to give up vices, for others but some have been especially touching from the children. Many children requested prayers so their parents would know Jesus. One little boy asked that his father quit smoking, drinking, and beating up his mother and that his Dad would accept Jesus.
Two weeks last month, Ivana helped with two different school camps for children in an English speaking Christian school. Some of the children’s parents are missionaries and/or pastors. We had been praying that God’s Holy Spirit would move in the children and youths lives and it was incredible how God touched the lives. It was clear how the enemy had and is attacking these children and their families and also how one can not assume because a child is raised in a Christian home that they also grasp their parents’ values. However, in just a few days, many bonds were broken for these students: fear, addictions, suicide, etc. and many are now are on fire to know and serve the Lord. Please pray for our third and fourth graders, as we take them to camp this week. We have many children from broken or very dysfunctional homes. May God touch these children in a special way.
I would like to ask for pray for a young gal, I will call Maria, but it is not her real name. Monday Maria was sharing with me how last Saturday morning early, she was awaken and felt she was being led to pray on Cerro Lambaré, the high hill in our town. As soon as she began talking, I felt goose bumps and had the feeling that the urge to go there was not of God. She began sharing how she asked several people to go and no one wanted to go. Then she was heading for her schooling and the next thing she knew she was getting off the bus at the foot of the hill. She climbed the hill and when she arrived there were many people there from early in the morning. The caretaker approached her and asked why she had come alone because it was very dangerous. She said it was to pray. He began sharing that he often hid and was so afraid to work there alone. Satan worshippers use this hill as a meeting area and over the past several weeks have been doing sacrifices there. He watched as they sacrificed chickens then saved the blood the night before. He then told how he had personally accepted the Lord last year when a group went to pray on the hill to break the bondages of satan…that group turned out to be our school group when Pastor Ben and his team was ministering in Lambaré.
Tuesday night at church, Maria went forward for prayer and as I was praying for her; we talked about all the satanic things that has occurred in her home. She confessed that she did not feel the calling to go to Cerro Lambaré was of God. We prayed for the release of satan in her life, her family, and her home. On Wednesday right after school, she called begging for help. Her mother was really sick. We went to the hospital and I tried to pray with her mom but there was such a resistance. Please pray that the bondages of sin and the enemy can be broken in that home.
I want to thank everyone who continues to pray for our ministry. As I shared in my Intercessory Prayer class; we are in a spiritual battle and there is no turning back. We are seeing so many people being set free and we are praying many more can be. Here are just a few more prayer and ministry updates:
We participated with the Ministerial of Education’s Exposition for our children’s work in the plaza Saturday. We participated with all the other Lambaré schools. Our children were enthusiastic about giving out Bible tracts to all who visited our display and on-going demonstrations throughout the day.
The program the Youth were planning for Saturday evening in the same plaza was cancelled because we did not receive permission from the “Municipalidad”. They gave the excuse that another group had the park reserved for the next month. However, our Adult leader for the youth group, heard the real reason as he waited outside the office when he went to check on the permit. Two inside the office were saying they did not want any “evangelios” singing and shouting “”praise the Lord” and such in the plaza. The clerk working at the front desk with our leader stepped into the office where the other two were talking. She told them not to talk so loud because our leader could hear everything. He even heard her advising them to be quiet. Please pray that they would have a change of heart and permit our youth to host a special evangelistic campaign in that area on the main road through Lambaré.
This Saturday, we have a special children’s program then in the evening we have our evening family fair. Please pray that in both events we can share Jesus.
It is hard to believe 2005 is drawing to a close and I was thinking about my yearly Christmas project that I began in 2000 to purchase shirts for the children in Sunday School plus all the school children. Two years later I expanded the project to include Food baskets for needy families. I am going to do the project again this year and figure I am probably going to need funds for approximately 550 to 600 shirts for all the children in our two Sunday School programs and in the school. If you or anyone you know would like to help, please send the funds to:

Our school has an atrium or dome on the second floor that is absolutely beautiful…just one problem…it is also very hot. We are trying to find a solution. Please pray for direction on how to maintain the beauty of the dome while finding a solution for the heat.
In a recent church meeting, one member talked about wanting to start an evangelistic radio station for Lambaré, Asuncion and the surrounding areas. Yesterday he shared someone has a station complete with all the equipment for just $2500. Please pray that if is God’s desire that we start a station at this time that He will open the doors to make it a reality.
Also, we are praying for different tracks of land for school and church expansion projects. We want to buy land around the school before people begin building on it. Please pray that God will touch the hearts of those who have land to sell and also that we can find the needed funds when the land is available.
As I close, I would for you to continue to pray for Mable, also Larry, Felicia, and my brother Bob who will be celebrating his birthday this Saturday. May God bless you.
Love,
Sue
