NEW HORIZON METHODIST SCHOOL

The Deadline is just days away to double construction donations for our school Print E-mail

Good Evening!

The deadline for our $50,000 Matching Grant Challenge is fast approaching and right now we have $31,700 and are still about $18,300 short.  With this challenge all donations are being doubled and this will assist us with our construction projects.

To donate to this project, please mark your checks as New Horizon Methodist School Project #3021089 and one may give three different ways.

· Online at givetomission.org.

· By calling 1-888-252-6174.

· Send a check to Advance GCFA, PO Box 9068, GPO, New York, NY 10087-9068.

Yes, I am still on the road, now in Delaware visiting area churches.   As of tonight I have done 102 presentations about the school.  Some have been full hour presentations, some as sermons, others as mission moments and others for small group or individual projects.   My goals for this trip are to:

1. Raise at least the $50,000 for the Matching grant although I would like to raise $600,000 so we can finish the multipurpose building and add a wing of classrooms unto the school.

2. Find sponsors for all the students…we are still lacking about between180-200.  Student packets are just going out and we are waiting to hear from many sponsors.

3. Find funds, approximately $50,000 to $70,000, to purchase land for a new school.

Paraguay Mission Trip Opportunity

New Horizon School in Paraguay began a new school year in February with over 700 children enrolled. They have begun to use the new Multipurpose building for classes as well as gym and music, but considerable work is needed to complete the facility.  Mark Waltz is planning to take a mission team to Paraguay leaving from Erie on September 15, returning September 25, 2012.  The trip is estimated to cost about $2,000. Money for the plane fare, estimated at $1500, will need to be supplied by July 1, 2012 so that plane reservations can be made.  Anyone interested in going will need a valid passport. The plan is to work on the multipurpose building at the school and help with the construction of the new Methodist mission church across the street from the school.  Anyone willing to work is welcome although persons with construction skills, especially masonry, are especially needed.  Contact Mark Waltz if you are interested.  E-mail is  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. School Starts for 2012 for Paraguay’s New Horizon Print E-mail

Good Evening!  It seems like forever since I last wrote.

First our school year began with the teachers organzing their classrooms and participating in planning meetings and a few seminars.   We started the year for the teachers and then with the students a short skit about a group of colors who were fighting about who was best and then God put them together to form a beautiful rainbow.   It was a great object lesson on accepting each other’s differences and realizing God’s promises can be accomplished when we work together.

Have you ever been given a challenge, only to meet it, and then be given another challenge?  God uses trials and challenges to help us grow and trust in Him more each day.
