2006 School News Release

The Methodist School of New Horizons is a private christian school that was built entirely by faith. It is not supported by the government so we will need to obtain sponsors for each of the children. The student's parents have to pay 20 mil guarani, about $3.50 a month for tuition, but this only covers about 10% of the costs. Fairview United Methodist Church has agreed to handle sponsorship funds, therefore, 100% of the funds donated by sponsors will go directly to the school. A sponsorships costs $35.00 per month, $420.00 per year or you may contribute to an Endowment Fund that would cover the cost of the student's education through 12th grade. The fund cover the cost of the school operations: books, materials, staff, maintenance, and snacks for the younger children. Sponsorships are tax deductible. Sponsors will receive a photo of the sponsored child and quarterly reports on his/her progress. If you would like to sponsor a child for a year, complete the Child Sponsorship Form . Checks should be written to "Samaritan Hands Paraguay School" and mailed to:

Samaritan Hands Paraguay School
Fairview United Methodist Church
2508 Old Niles Ferry Rd.
Maryville, TN 37803
telephone: (865)983-2080

If you would like to send a gift to your student(s) for Christmas or birthday(s), it is best if you don't rely on Paraguay's mail service since many packages get LOST!! It is better to send a modest money gift of $10-$20 for birthday or Christmas to Samaritan Hands Paraguay School earmarked for your child. The money will be put in a "Special Events" Fund for monthly birthday parties or El Dia del Nino...etc...so that all the children will benefit from your generosity.
